Paedocypris Progenetica: Smallest Fish In The World

The world's smallest fish is Paedocypris progenetica, it is also the smallest vertebrate or backboned animal.

It only measures 7.9mm long (0.31 inch). This species also belongs to the family of minnows and carps. But why is this so tiny? By looking at the image above, it’s so tiny that the fingerprints are so visible.

They are found in the swamps in the forests of Indonesia. Some are being found in Malaysia though. What’s more amazing is that they live in waters with an acidity of PH3. Imagine how acidic that is compared to the waters in the rivers and the sea.

The tiny, see-through Paedocypris fish have the appearance of a larvae and a reduced head skeleton, which leaves the brain unprotected by bone.

So, if you are planning to go on a fishing adventure with your family or friends but don't know where the best location would be or you don't know how much it will cost, then you should check this website. They know the market very well and they might also be able to help you with your budget for the trip and most important of all, they will make your fishing adventure an experience you will never forget.
